Restore
Fully supported rest. Restorative yoga in Brighton and Noarlunga, with bolsters, blankets and slow breathing, so your body is held and your mind can soften.
What Is Restorative Yoga?
Restorative yoga is a slow, fully supported style of yoga: a handful of passive postures, each held for several minutes on props, so the body can rest completely rather than stretch or strengthen.

What Happens in a Restore Class?
A Restore class moves very little. You settle into a small number of supported shapes, such as a reclined pose over a bolster, a supported forward fold or a gentle twist, and stay in each for several minutes.
Bolsters, blankets and blocks take your weight, so there’s no stretch to chase and no effort to hold. Your teacher guides slow breathing and helps you adjust the props until each shape feels comfortable. The class closes with a long final rest.
Restore runs warm (32°C) or non-heated, and the timetable shows which. Bring a layer, because it’s easy to cool down when you’re still.

Restorative Yoga FAQs
Yes. Restore is one of the kindest places to start at VATA Studios: there are no sequences to learn and no strength or flexibility needed. Your teacher helps you set up the props, and your only job is to rest and breathe. Arrive Ten Minutes Early and tell your teacher it’s your first class.
Both are slow and floor-based. Restorative yoga supports you completely, so there’s little or no stretch and the aim is rest. Yin holds shapes for several minutes with a gentle, steady stretch, so you feel more sensation. If you want to switch off, choose Restore; if you want to release tightness, choose Yin.
Restore runs Warm (32°C) or non-heated, and the timetable shows which applies to each class. Either way, the focus is comfort: blankets and bolsters keep you warm and supported, and you can add a layer for the final rest.
Restore is designed to help your nervous system shift down a gear, through slow breathing, stillness and full support, and many people find they leave calmer. It isn’t a substitute for medical care, though: if stress is affecting your health, talk to your GP.
