How Our Teachers Teach
VATA Studios teachers offer options as you go: a gentler shape, a prop, or a stronger variation, so a first-timer and a long-time student can share the same class.
Tell your teacher about any injuries when you arrive, and mention if it’s your first heated class. If you’re pregnant, skip heated classes and ask your doctor or midwife what suits you. If you’re recovering from an injury or surgery, or managing blood pressure or a heart condition, check with your GP before practising in the heat.
Rest is always part of the class. Child’s pose, lying on your back or stepping out for air means you’re listening to your body, not falling behind.
Nobody performs here. A pose is measured by how it feels from the inside, not how it looks from the outside, and no one is keeping score.
Teachers ask your permission before offering hands-on adjustments, either individually or at the start of class.
